40% Kennedy Halves
 
Hello Everyone,

Are there any Numismatists out there who might know which 40% Kennedy halves are worth keeping if any? These would all be in circulated condition.

I have found that it seems as though the only ones worth anything are;
PRF 65 Proofs -
MS - 60 UNC.

I take it these are coins that were bought by collectors that would rarely be found in circulated rolls from the bank.

If you find any dated 1970, you can get a substantial premium for them on greedBay. :553:

I will look through the stash, thanks, I just don't want to sell or trade anything that I might get better than a buck or two for.

I don't think I've ever got a '70 before...

Only a couple or three million 1970 Kenendys were made, and all were sold in US Mint sets. Not released into general circulation. The only way you'll find 1970 in circulation is when/if junior found Dad's Mint set stash, and cut them open and spent them. (or if burglar got hold of them and spent them).

I found one once ....I sort about $15k in havles a year....

I have found many impaired proofs and impaired uncirculated Kennedy half dollars searching for 40% and 90% half dollars. I have also found a few silver proof Kennedy half dollars in circulation. I only found 1 1970 Kennedy half dollar--so far. I kept that one. :-)
